About This Book

This book describes the application programming interface (API) of the IBM Logical Volume Manager for OS/2. This API is contained in the LVM Engine (LVM.DLL), and provides routines for:

Access to information about both physical and virtual storage devices.
Creation, deletion, and modification of partitions and logical volumes.
Installation, uninstallation, and configuration of the IBM Boot Manager.

The information in this book is principally derived from the OS/2 Reference Code originally released by IBM as part of the Enterprise Volume Management System project (http://evms.sourceforge.net).
